The First Southern Baptist Church of Ava was organized in December, 1897 by a handful of Christians who began sharing a church building in Ava, Missouri with two other denominations until 1914. On October 1, 1914, the Ava First Southern Baptist Church building was completed across from the current high school in Ava. Then, on April 2, 1961, the current church building located on Johnson Avenue just east of the Ava City Park facilities was completed and the members held their dedication service on that day. The FSBC in Ava, Missouri has enjoyed a reputation of being one of the warmest and friendliest churches in the region. The church campus is complete with a sanctuary that seats approximately 250 persons, has numerous class room facilities for all age groups, a full kitchen with cooking facilities, a basement dining room and meeting room facility, and multiple offices for church staff. The campus is maintained very nicely by the friendly people who have made this church their home fellowship.

Scripture of the Week:
" So the LORD God said to the serpent: 'Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.' "
